Thanksgiving dinners with family were held in Bloomingdale at 294 Glenwild Ave & then after Nona's passing at his house in Fair Lawn. The number attending ranged from about 14 to 20 family members. The dinners, having been prepared by the best chefs around, Nona, Aunt Egeria, Aunt Ann & Aunt Gloria, were nothing less than amazing. After dinner, Uncle Siro would round up his children, nieces & nephews for a long hike through the woods near Glenwild Lake. In Fair Lawn we walked around the peaceful neighborhood. It dawned on me years later that he may have orchestrated these long walks to give the chefs at the house some piece & quiet before coffee & dessert was served.
Rest in Peace Uncle Siro.
