Obituary of C. Peter Tillotson

Charles Peter Tillotson, 90, of Delaware, formerly of Montville and Verona, NJ, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 31, 2024.

 

Pete, as he was known, grew up in Verona and graduated from Verona High School in 1952. He went on to Bucknell University, earning his bachelor's degree in aeronautics. Pete worked in Contract Administration for Marotta Valve Scientific Controls, Inc. in Montville for over 35 years.

 

School sports were a large part of Pete's life...he shot films for the Verona High School Football team for 30 years and coached 10–12-year-old boys in his White Sox team for 31 years for Montville Township Baseball. He also enjoyed the NY Yankees, the Pittsburgh Steelers and fishing.

 

Predeceased by his wife, Florence (Berdin); and his brother, Craig; Pete is survived by his twin daughters, Susan & Fred Ackerman of Denville, NJ; and Sharon & Carl Haskins of Seaford, DE; two grandchildren, Melissa and Ryan Ackerman; his special Hillbilly buddy, Anthony Quadrell; John Carlson; Dr. Tom Iulo; Brian Duval; the Rosellini family; and Danny O’Dowd (former General Manager of the Cleveland Indians).

 

Pete will be laid to rest at Rockaway Valley Cemetery in Boonton Township, NJ, on Saturday, September 7th at 11:00am.
