Obituary of Ellen Parks Connors

MOUNTAIN LAKES---Ellen Parks Connors died Saturday, October 8, 2011 at her home following a long illness. She was 75. Born in Bayonne, she lived there, then in Mountain Lakes for over 40 years. Mrs. Connors was a librarian at the Mountain Lakes Library for 25 years before retiring last year. Prior to that she had been a school nurse at The Wilson School, Mountain Lakes for 10 years. She received her R.N. degree from the Bayonne Hospital School of Nursing in 1957 and was the class valedictorian. Ellen was a longtime parishioner at St. Catherine of Siena Church, Mountain Lakes and enjoyed gardening, painting and traveling with friends and family. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, James J.; two sons, James J., II and his wife Susann of Montclair and William F. of Myrtle Beach, SC; two daughters, MaryAnne Brennan and her husband Michael Prevoznik of Mountain Lakes and Kathleen Smith and her husband James of Mountain Lakes; a sister, Isabel Shaughnessy of Bayonne and twelve cherished grandchildren, Nell, Mary Kate, Beth, Allison and James, III Connors, Kady, Matthew, Jane and Bo Brennan and Connor, Jack and Maggie Smith. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Wednesday, October 12th at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine of Siena Church, 10 N. Pocono Rd., Mountain Lakes with interment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Boonton. Friends may call Tuesday from 6-9 PM only at the Mackey Funeral Home (mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton.
