Obituary of Marjorie Jean Tindall

Please share a memory of Marjorie to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Marjorie Jean Tindall (nee Rexroth), known as Margie, Marge, and most affectionately, as the Beeb to her husband of close to 70 years, Harold, of Boonton, NJ, passed away peacefully on November 7, 2023.

Daughter of the late Marion and Andrew Rexroth, she was born in April 1930, in Jersey City, NJ. Her family moved to Boonton when she was young. Some of her favorite childhood memories involve playing in the Greenwood Cemetery with her brother Andy, because of the proximity to the family home.

Marjorie met the love of her life, Harold, married and settled in Boonton. Noted by anyone who ever met them, the Tindalls shared an inseparable, true and long loving relationship for over 70 years. In Boonton they raised their three highly active sons, Harold (Beverly) Pompton Plains, NJ; Douglas and Eric, both of Milford, DE. She and Hal were active in the community, and their church, and avid members of Lake Valhalla Swim Club, where the family swam and played competitive tennis for hours on end each summer. She was a homemaker, and noted by her sons, the true disciplinarian in the family. Later, Marjorie also supported her husband’s long standing Boonton antique and art business, The Tyndale Collection, by managing part of the shop. While sitting there for hours on many a Saturday, she pursued her hobby of knitting and crocheting beautiful sweaters and purses for family and friends. Margie was known to be a highly organized record keeper and collector of napkin rings and Russian painted eggs, as well.

Marjorie and Hal counted themselves lucky to have maintained unique lifelong friendships for over 70 years with Jane and Jim Pellington, Marilyn and Everett Hughes, and others. They shared many special laughs and fond memories beginning in their youthful days.

Marjorie cherished moments spent with loved ones, a particular favorite night being Christmas Eve, as well as “tea parties” with her granddaughters. She often spoke with pride about her grandchildren, Clayton Tindall, Tunkhannock, PA; Austin Tindall, Boonton, NJ; Casey Hebner (Jesse), Huntington Beach, CA; Jay Tindall, Pompton Plains, NJ; Brooke Tindall, and Jillian Tindall, both of Tampa, FL. She also maintained a special relationship with her niece, Kristi Rexroth, Hollywood, FL.

Marjorie was predeceased by her brother, Andrew Rexroth.
