Obituary of Juanita June Lynch
Juanita June Lynch of Boonton Township, NJ passed peacefully in her sleep on November 15, 2023, at the age of 92.
Juanita was born the third of seven children in June 1931 to Howard Thomas Blank and Alverda Langer Blank. Thomas Edward Blank, Betty Elaine Windemuth, Howard Junior Blank, Richard Alan Blank and Juanita June Lynch are survived by their youngest sisters, Carol Blank Shafer and Martha Blank Mumma.
Juanita was raised with her family in Bowling Green, Maryland. After graduating Allegany High School in 1949, she attended Frostburg State Teachers College where she earned her teaching degree in 1953.
At Frostburg, she met the love of her life, John Francis Lynch, a young math major who won her heart after tying the bow on the back of Juanita’s dress to the cord of the classroom’s venetian blind. This was a smashing success, as John and Juanita married in 1953, embarking on the most beautiful life together for 68 years, until John’s passing in the fall of 2021.
Juanita is also survived by her six children, Winifred Wallace, John Lynch Jr., Jennifer Lynch, Stephanie Lynch, Kathy Lilieholm and Christopher Lynch, as well as thirteen grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Juanita’s personality was shaped by her love of laughter, arts, music, nature and sports, which radiated to any of those around her, but her family was her greatest pride and joy. She would often remember her youth and of being the fastest girl in the entire middle school class, as well as her special love of swimming and playing tennis during the summer and paddle ball through the winter. This contributed to her ability to play so actively with all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren into her 90s. Juanita’s example still guides her children, who consider themselves the luckiest people on earth to have had such a wonderful mother.
Visitation and respects to be held on December 5th at Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, Boonton, NJ between the hours of 5pm and 7pm.
