Obituary of Edith Lillian Hodgins

Edith L. Hodgins passed away Thursday, November 2, 2023 after a short illness, at Fallsview Nursing Home in Boonton Township, NJ.

She was born in September 1933 in Paterson, NJ and grew up in West Paterson before moving to Boonton 60 years ago. Edie spent many wonderful summers on her grandparents’ farm in NY state. She enjoyed going to Atlantic City with her mom or going for a cup of tea at one of her neighbors houses. Edie worked for 30+ years in the Meat Department for Shop Rite in Lincoln Park.

She was predeceased by her parents, Edith (Dingee) and Howard Leetch; her brother, Robert Leetch; her daughter, Sandra Terrill; her best friend, Josie Bacchetta; and many other family members and friends.

Edie is survived by her son, James Hodgins and his wife, Debra of Boonton; her daughter, Kathleen and her husband, Gary Post, of Rockaway Township; her granddaughters, Brittany and her husband, Michael Taylor; Heather Post; Dallas Post; and Cheyenne Terrill; and her great-grandchildren, Gabrielle and Christopher Taylor.

Visitation is Sunday, November 5th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm at Codey & Mackey Funeral Home of Boonton. Entombment will be Monday, November 6th at 11:00am in Laurel Grove Cemetery, Totowa. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Boonton Kiwanis First Aid Squad, PO Box 16, Boonton, NJ 07005.
