Amber and I worked closely together at H&A for over 15 years. She was a trusted colleague, my go-to resource for geology and rock questions. She was a perfectionist who produced high quality work and was well liked and respected by internal staff as well as clients and owners. I attended a NJDOT/ACEC seminar several years ago where Amber gave a talk about blasting, and when I visited the ladies room after that talk, all of the women waiting in line were talking about Amber’s presentation and how awesome she was. She was an exceptional geologist and “rock” star for sure. But most importantly she was a friend. We sat in offices next to each other and spent a lot of time through the years sharing together about ups and downs of work and personal life. I miss her dearly and send sincere condolences to her family for their loss.

I had the delightful pleasure of working with Amber at the Parsippany office of Haley & Aldrich from 2006 to 2021. I have read the other memories and I could not agree more. Amber was such a life force in our office, she marched to her own drummer and was truly proud of her purpose and mission in life. She made us all think twice about how we approached just about anything. She was strong, upfront and transparent. She was such a great person to work with. I’m so glad she spent time with us.

I had the honor of working with Amber for over 15 years at Haley & Aldrich. Amber was an amazing person: a talented perfectionist dedicated to her craft and to the superior service she provided to colleagues and clients. Always with a smile and a laugh, even when under pressure, her love for structural geology was contagious. With high emotional intelligence, she could be tough as nails when dealing with contractors in one moment and vulnerable and sensitive in the next. She was passionate about her expertise, and cherished the fact that she found a career where she could truly do what she loved. Through her hard work and responsiveness, she built a rock engineering practice that instilled confidence throughout the company and with our clients. Beyond her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Rutgers, Amber had a thirst for learning and continually sought self-improvement – becoming a licensed drone pilot and a Professional Geologist in multiple states; and earning a Geologic Engineering degree. She was a spirited force in the Parsippany office and built relationships across many offices – she truly cared about her colleagues. Of special note is the respect and genuine friendships she developed with staff of the NJDOT who trusted her with their most complex rockfall projects. She enjoyed working with junior staff and mentored numerous geologist and geotechnical engineers. During her professional career she authored several technical papers and gave numerous presentations at conferences and seminars. In 2014, she received the Harl Aldrich Excellence Award, the firm's highest individual staff tribute. We have all been blessed by having her as part of our lives; she will be sorely missed by her Haley & Aldrich family.

I was deeply saddened when I learned of Amber's passing. Over a twenty year span on several challenging projects she was a constant professional. She knew how to manage both the hands on in the field operations and the text book regulatory aspects. Amber was also unique in that she was very approachable on jobsite issues and was willing to find solutions without compromising the task at hand. She also never lost site of the human element in day to day work. My colleages and I will surely miss her.

Amber was a wonderful soul. I had many meaningful and deep conversations with her about her career path, our shared geeky infatuation with rocks and life in general. I will greatly miss her sinister laugh echoing down the halls…but I’m sure I’ll hear it in the wind each time I’m in the field mapping more rocks. She really embodied everything that everyone wanted in a colleague- she was a saint. We’ll miss ya Amber!!!

My deepest condolences to Amber's family and friends. I'm a coworker of Amber's from the New Hampshire office. While my interactions with Amber were limited, it is so easy to remember her beautiful smile and happy, upbeat personality. She made the world a better place and will be missed by many. I was privileged to play a part in Amber's entire professional career. Her accomplishments during that time were widespread and impressive and will remain a lasting legacy. I once introduced her to a roomful of experts within our chosen field as 'the best Geologist that I know.' That was true that day and it remains true today. But what truly set Amber apart was that, aside from those professional abilities, she was an even better person. Amber spent so much time in furtherance of others, always looking to the needs and comforts of those around her. As a result of her example, you often found yourself being kinder, gentler to others in Amber's presence. In essence, Amber made you a better person, simply through nature of her being. She had boundless enthusiasm. She was kindness, patience and gracefulness, and the world was a better place for her presence. It is also one of the few true honors of my life to have known her as a close friend. She is missed terribly, for she was loved dearly.

I had the privilege of working with Amber at H&A. She was one of the first people to welcome me to the office and was a delight to work with. Even in our most stressful moments she always had a smile to share with everyone. She was a force to be reckoned with in her field and will be missed dearly by all of us.
