Evelyn Carlsen, of Towaco, New Jersey, peacefully passed away on Friday, April 3, 2020 in her home, truly a gift to pass in peace and without any pain. She lived for 89 wonderful years.
Born in Brooklyn, New York to Peter and Elva Andersen. Along with her father she was raised by her loving stepmother, Mary Andersen, in Denmark. She met her husband, Alfred D. Carlsen at the Sunset Park Swimming Pool. Three years later they married in 1950. After their wedding they raised a family in Brooklyn, New York and Rockaway, New Jersey.
Evelyn worked in various jobs, retiring as a factory worker at Howmet, Corp., in Dover, New Jersey.
She is survived by her devoted children and their spouses, Steven and Susan Carlsen, Karen and Thomas Skutka, Trudy and John Coppola; loving grandchildren, Christian (Maureen), Brian (Elene), Julie, Frank (Alora) and Karina (Corey).
When we can all safely gather a Service celebrating Evelyn's life will be offered at King of Kings Lutheran Church, 145 Rt. 46 W, Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046 will be announced.
