Obituary of Arthur L. Herrmann
Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather, Former Member of the American Stock Exchange, Loved the Outdoors
Arthur L. Herrmann, of Boonton, New Jersey, formerly of Mountain Lakes, New Jersey, peacefully passed away on Thursday, March 12, 2020 at home with his family by his side. He lived a remarkable 86 years.
Born in Jamaica (Queens), New York to Joseph and Maybelle (Harrington) Herrmann, Arthur lived in New York City, Little Silver, Monmouth Beach and Mountain Lakes before moving to Boonton in 2010. He was married to his beloved wife, Anne M. (McCrossin) Herrmann and together they raised their children and lived a beautiful life together.
Arthur was a 1956 graduate of Lafayette College with a bachelor's degree in business.
Art began his career in the family's tugboat business. The business was at the heart of the Herrmann family, especially his father, Joe, who loved the water.
Mr. Herrmann was a proud member of the United States Army Reserve and was Honorably Discharged as a First Lieutenant in 1967.
For most of his life, Arthur was a member of American Stock Exchange. He was a dedicated floor broker for many years before his retirement in 1996.
His love of the outdoors was obvious to all those who knew and loved him. Arthur loved to hike, bike, ski and sail.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 50 years, Anne; devoted children, Heide A. Rodgers (fiancé, Jim Miller) and Arthur E. Herrmann (spouse, Lara); also, four cherished grandsons, Brendan, Bradley, Arthur and Gavin. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Herrmann.
A Celebration of Arthur's life at Our Lady of Mount Carmel R.C. Church in Boonton, New Jersey will be announced at a later date. In the meantime, please reach out to the Herrmann family by phone, mail or email and share a condolence or memory with the family on this website.
