Carol Kingsley Saunders, 78, died Saturday November 23, 2019 after a long illness. Carol is Survived by her son David E. Saunders of Morristown and daughter Susan M. Saunders of Boonton Twp., her brother Mark T. Kingsley of Aiken, SC and her sister Ellen M. Kingsley of Ascott-under-Wychwood, England. She is predeceased by her husband Edmund R. Saunders, Jr., in March 1995, her mother Myrtle H. Kingsley in June 2001, her father David G. Kingsley in November 1981 and her brother David G. Kingsley, Jr in May 1964. Carol was a 1958 graduate of Mountain Lakes High School. She received a degree in Mathematics from Smith College in Northampton, MA in May 1962. After graduating, she worked in Engineering and Design at Bell Laboratories in Whippany and later at Ford Motor Company's HQ in Detroit Michigan. After her first child, she and her husband moved back to her hometown in Mountain Lakes. She became a high school math teacher and tutor at MLHS, and eventually a home school teacher for the town until she retired. She volunteered for the school, sport teams and library in Mountain Lakes. She served as a member of the Mtn Lakes Library Board. She was Chair of Mountain Lakes High School Reunion Committee and maintained lifelong friendships. Carol was an avid reader, gardener, and artist. Loved music of all kinds and played piano and saxophone.
