Obituary of Robert Joseph Geers

Robert Joseph Geers Loved His Family Robert J. Geers, 66, of Montville, NJ, passed away on December 11, 2019 and joined his beloved wife, Carol, in heaven. Born in Passaic, NJ to Joseph and Viola (Kron) Geers, Robert was raised in Wayne, NJ and lived with his wife and children in Montville, NJ. After graduating from Montclair State University, Robert started his career as a drafting teacher at Ridge High School before becoming a carpenter. He was a self-employed carpenter for over 20 years and ended his career with Local 253 before his retirement in 2013. Robert was an involved father and could regularly be seen coaching baseball and softball or in the stands at his children's lacrosse games, volleyball matches, football games, and cheerleading competitions. When Robert was not with his family, he loved to spend time with his friends. A proud Wayne Valley graduate, he kept in close contact with friends from high school and would organize regular get-togethers with other alumni. On summer weekends, Robert could be found in Sea Girt spending time at Harrigan's and Parker House with close friends. Much to his wife's chagrin, Robert was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and fulfilled a lifelong dream of visiting the Green Monster in July 2018. Surviving are his devoted children, Carolyn Green and her husband, Daniel, Robert E. and Jennifer; cherished grandsons, Asher and Ari; sisters-in-law, Deborah Jones, with her husband Bruce, and Pamela Del Guercio, with her husband Robert; also many loving nieces and nephews. Join the family as they celebrate Robert's life with visitation at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ on Sunday, December 15th from 2-5 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Pius X R.C. Church, 24 Changebridge Road, Montville, NJ on Monday, December 16th at 10:00 am.
