Obituary of Mary Veronica Scholten

Maureen Scholten peacefully passed on Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019.

Born on December 9, 1945 to Mary and Kevin McAree in the town of Castleblayney, County Monaghan, Ireland, she was one of four children, including her and her brother Peter McAree (deceased), her sister Anne Heraty, and her brother Kevin (Junior) McAree.

Survived by her husband Henry Scholten, her three sons Michael, Kevin, and Brian Scholten, and her five grandchildren Miles, Van, Michael, Lucy and Brady Scholten. Before arriving in the United States, Maureen achieved her R.N. and Midwifery Certification from the General Council for England and Wales. She loved to travel, cook, run, hike, walk, and spend time with her family and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Catherine of Siena R.C Church, 10 N. Pocono Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 26, 2019. The burial will be private at Greenwood Cemetery in Boonton. To share a condolence or a memory, please visit codeymackeyfh.com.
