I will always remember Cheryl and her genuine caring for others. She was an amazing mother and really fun person to be around. We met Cheryl when she met and married my husband's high school friend, Pete. They then moved down to NC and lived just a few miles from us. We got together when the kids were little and I remember her setting up crafts for us to do with the kids. Cheryl was really funny, and had a quick wit! She fought the cancer so hard and never complained - devoting her time to her Peter and Riley. What a sad loss of a really special person. Much love and hugs to the family.

Cheryl and I grew up together in Bogota and attended the same elementary school. She was a very caring and loving person that I will miss terribly. Though it's been some time since we last spoke, she has never been far from my thoughts and I will always cherish our childhood memories together. My condolences to the Barbara and Wendt families.

I never had the pleasure of spending time with Cheryl but did meet her briefly recently. I sort of felt like I knew her through her brothers however. This past weekend my family had the privilege of spending the day with Peter and Riley and I now know in my heart that I know Cheryl. Her children are smart, funny, polite and even under these circumstances, full of life. They are the type of children you want to spend time with and want your children to be friends with. They are a true testament to what kind of mother Cheryl was and will continue to be. Even after losing their father, when it would have been so easy to brush off bad behavior to that loss, they are respectful, thoughtful and well behaved. That shows me exactly how their mother raised them and even while being so sick she did what was right for her children. My heart breaks for the entire family to lose this amazing woman but I have faith that she will never be far from them. The love of life and happiness that shows in every picture of her I have ever seen lets me know Cheryl will always be watching over those she loved. God bless you all and our deepest condolences

On the day of my birth this year, the most beautiful soul that ever blessed the earth with her footprints, rose to the heavens on gossamer wings to take her place among the angels.
Beautiful, kind and caring with the strength and subtlety of steel wings, she touched us all with her grace, power, and courage of being. Although her time among us was fleeting, she managed to transform our lives, like the chrysalis of a butterfly, releasing the innate beauty in everyone she caressed, with the metamorphic power of her gentle spirit.
She will be forever missed, for somehow the world now seems to contain fewer colors without her. We will miss the beauty you bestowed on all those you touched with your magnificent grace and elegance, perhaps no where more evident, than in the innocent faces of your living legacy, Peter and Riley.
You were more than a best friend, you were my angel, my guide and my queen here on earth, and I will love you forever as I have for the twenty one years since you entered my life. You will be missed with every draw of my breath.
My sincere condolences to the Barbara and Wendt families, as well as all family and friends. I feel your loss so deeply and acutely and wish you all love and strength in this time of grief.
With deepest sympathy,
John

22 years ago, I had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl - my new fun, responsible roommate. Our friendship grew and as we moved into our next three homes, our shared memories building the base of our warm wonderful friendship that has existed ever since.
Cheryl really was an inspiration. Facing head on the many challenges confronting her, Cheryl's positive attitude dispelled negativity. She is remembered as a fun-loving, caring, positive. accepting, nurturing and non judgmental friend concerned for others well being up to her very last few days. I cannot express enough how much of an impression Cheryl made on me from the very, very first time I met her. She has made such a remarkably positive impact on my life - a gift that I will always truly, truly cherish.
I am so, very, very saddened by the passing of my dear friend of 22 years. I am so very, very lucky to have had the benefit of friendship from such a beautiful, courageous woman. "Keeping it real, Judith" was our motto in her last few months.
Thank you to Peter, Riley, the Wendt family and all of the Barbara family for making her life and remaining time special. Love always, "Judith"

To Cheryl's family, especially young Peter and Riley, may you always hold onto all the beautiful memories you've created with your mother, daughter, sister and friend.
Your mother was one amazingly strong woman, she loved you both so much and I know she fought this fight as hard as she could just to be here with you.
Cheryl was loved by many and she was just as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside. She could light up a room with her personality, her gorgeous red curls and her optimistic positive attitude and outlook on on life, I truly admired her for this, she could always turn lemons into sweet lemonade!
Cheryl, you will be dearly missed, there will forever be a hole in our special "C"ircle of friends. May you rest in peace, and may your children always remember just how special you were, and how much you loved them.
Until we meet again my friend, may you rest peacefully.
Love,
Your Survivor Sister

Dear Riley, Peter, Barbara family & Wendt family....We are so sad to hear Cheryl's battle has ended. Cheryl was a great neighbor, wonderful mother & the BIGGEST FIGHTER I have ever met. Always a smile on her face I would ask if she needed help with anything and she would say I think we're Ok thank you! She would say to me why did you blow my leaves or snowblow the drive? As Cheryl had stressed to me she wanted to spend as much time as she could with her kids not knowing how long she had....I wanted her to not have to worry about "the little things" we certainly lost a Beautiful person in this world...rest well my friend you will be missed
