While we did not have the honor of meeting him, it is clear from reading the condolences here that it indeed would have been an honor. We're happy our son Jim got to meet him. We wish you much peace as your memories of him wash over you. Both Steve and I have lost fathers and grandfathers so we know how difficult this time is for your family. Clearly he was a man you are proud to have had as your patriarch. We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers knowing time heals and will leave you with a legacy of memories that will bring a strong peace to you.

Prayers and condolences to the Banks family. I worked with Bob on the Boonton Police force for many years and found him to be one of the nicest people I know. We would often meet outside the deli and discuss old times, have a laugh, shake hands and part ways. He leaves a wonderful legacy.

Rest in Peace Mr. Banks. Thank you for serving in the Korean War. He was a Great Man, Father, and Police Officer in Boonton. I grew up with his son Roland in the 1970's and 1980's. Great days, when Mr. Banks became the First African American Chief of Police in 1991, in Morris County, NJ. God Bless Mr. Banks, and his family and friends. He was blessed with great health and endurance. Trials help us develop endurance, and endurance helps us develop strength and character, and character strengthens our confident hope of salvation. Peace and healing to the family. Amen. ...... Love, Laura and son, Adam

I was so sad to read of his passing. Such a nice man, who I got to know as he walked past the coffee shop where I work every morning till he discovered the more forgiving track at the high school. I'd often pass him on the boulevard as he rode his bke. I will miss his big smile and kind face.
My sincere condolences to his family
