Retired Engineer at Picatinny Arsenal
Joseph Robert Pacchia, 81, of Mountain Lakes, NJ, passed away on Monday, September 28, 2015 at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville, NJ after a brief illness.
Visitation will be held at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ on Thursday, Oct. 1 from 5 – 8 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Catherine of Siena, 10 N. Pocono Road, Mountain Lakes on Friday, Oct. 2 at 9:30 am. Born in Newark, NJ to his parents, Angelo and Rose Pacchia, Joseph lived in NY, NY, Maplewood, NJ and Orange, NJ before moving to Mountain Lakes in 1978. Joe graduated from Newark College of Engineering with a Bachelor Degree in Mechanical Engineering. He worked for many years as a mechanical engineer at Picatinny Arsenal in Dover, NJ. He proudly served as a reservist in the US Air Force.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Janice M. (Smith); devoted children, Tania (James) Sacco, Yvonne (Kevin) Joyce and Carl Pacchia; loving grandsons, Finn and Emmett Joyce; dear niece, Carla Gilbride and nephew, Michael Pacchia. He was predeceased by his brother, Michael Pacchia.
