Obituary of Marie K. Mullaney

Marie K. Mullaney (Van Pelt), formerly of Mountain Lakes, NJ, passed away on Thursday, December 4, 2014 at home in Lebanon, NJ. She was 88 years old. Marie was born in Jersey City, NJ and lived in Mountain Lakes for 45 years before moving to Lebanon in 2007. Most of her life was dedicated to her family in raising her 7 children. Afterwards she worked at St. Clare's Hospital in Denville in medical records for several years before retirement. In her years after retirement she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Mullaney was an active member of St. Catherine of Siena Church. She was predeceased by her husband, Vincent, and daughters Margaret and Anne Marie is survived by her children, Mary (Kevin), Patrick, Brian, Kathleen (Pat), Timothy (Kim) and Joseph (Suzanne); daughter-in-law, Patricia Spies, who was also her friend and caregiver during the last years of her life; son-in-law, Maurice Cohill; sister, Cathy Plothe and brother, Jack Van Pelt; also 18 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Sunday, December 7th from 2 - 6 pm at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, December 8th at 10:00am in St. Catherine of Siena Church, 10 N. Pocono Road, Mountain Lakes, NJ.
