Obituary of Vicki Veronica Vola

Vicki Veronica Vola, 68, died peacefully on March 29, 2014 in the Lincoln Park Care Center, where she received excellent and loving care for many years. The staff there was like a second family to her and are to be commended for their grace, diligence and compassion. A native of Belmar NJ, Vicki received a BS in Biology from Chestnut Hill College and an MA in Teaching from Fairleigh Dickinson University. She taught Biology in New York City and the Wall Twp. School Systems and owned pet stores, including Pet Agree, Manahawkin NJ and The Parrot Place, Vinton VA. She was known for her hand raised exotic birds, and considered an expert in the field, at times raising over 100 babies at a time. Vicki was a free spirit who sold sailboats and sailed from NJ to Bermuda and other ports. She bred champion German Shepherds, Yorkshire and Australian Terriers. Her parents, Chief Lawrence Vola and Grace Madonna Vola of Belmar, NJ, predecease her. She will be greatly missed by her sibling's Joyce, Linda and husband Charlie Sharp, Aiken SC, Larry and wife Theresa of Howell, her nieces: Melanie Clinch, Gretchen Mc Grath, Pauline, Grace and Mary Vola, as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and maybe a few ex-husbands. There will be no public viewing. No service is planned as yet. Donations to the Alzheimer's Association or your local Animal Shelter may be made in Vicki's memory.
