Obituary of Doris B. Callahan

Doris B. Callahan Family Matriarch Doris B. Callahan (nee Schwing), of Boonton Twp., NJ, formerly of Pennington, NJ, passed away peacefully on Sunday, December 29, 2013. She was 92 years old. Family and friends are invited to visit at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005 on Thursday, January 2nd from 10 AM - 12:30PM. A Funeral Service will follow at the First Presbyterian Church of Boonton, 513 Birch Street, Boonton on Thursday, January 2nd at 1:00 PM. The interment is private. She traveled all over the United States with her husband, Aloysius, who passed in 1995. She then resided in Whiting, NJ before moving to Boonton in 2008. Doris was a title searcher for the State of NJ, Lawyer's Title, and an office manager with the Chelsea Title Company in Trenton, after which she started her own title search business. Doris will be remembered as a lifelong learner and teacher who loved life and touched so many with her sense of humor and generous spirit. She was predeceased by her husband, her infant son Charles, a sister Tillie Tindall, and brothers, Tony and Charles Schwing. Surviving are her devoted children, and their spouses, Patrick and Liz Callahan, Jeffrey and Diana Callahan, Connie and Tim Kelly; loving sisters Agnes Smith, Loretta Hujber, Theresa Lang and Beatrice Acorn; dear brother Robert Schwing; also 8 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the American Heart Association, would be greatly appreciated.
