William Harman Brown, Jr., of Mountain Lakes, NJ, passed away on June 20th at the age of 88.
Bill was born in Queens, NY. He lived in Schenectady, NY, Whippany and Mountain Lakes, NJ.
Bill was a graduate of Lawrenceville Academy and attended college. He then proudly served in the US Army in the 41st Infantry during World War II, serving in the South Pacific.
Bill was a sports writer, worked in the advertising business and was Director of Human Resources for Beneficial Finance in Morristown.
He was a dedicated volunteer in the community. He enjoyed bowling at the Boonton Lanes. Bill was a member of the Jaycees and The Gourmet Club of Mountain Lakes. He and his wife loved to travel and were on the maiden voyage of the Q.E. II; the Jersey Shore, especially Long Beach Island; and the theatre - they were even interviewed by the NY Post after attending "The Book of Mormon."
Bill was predeceased by his beloved wife Eleanor (Winslow); loving parents William and Mary (Appleton), Sr. and a dear brother Stewart. Surviving are his devoted children Kimberly Dixon Brown and her partner Ron Borcherdt, Susan Brown Haumersen and her husband Brian W. Haumersen and William H. Brown, III and his wife Margot; his nephew Melville Brown and his wife Inka Rudnycka Brown; along with 7 grandchildren and two great-nephews.
Join the family in celebrating a beautiful life at a Memorial Service in The Community Church, 48 Briarcliff Road, Mountain Lakes on June 25th at 1:00pm.
