Lore V. Wall ("Betty") passed away on May 16, 2013 at Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital in New York City. A Funeral Service will be held at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ on Wednesday, May 22, 2013 at 1:00 PM. Interment will follow at the Montville Reformed Church Cemetery. For online condolences or information please visit www.codeymackeyfh.com. Lore was born on August 27, 1924 in Towaco, New Jersey, the daughter of the late Peter and Lore Van den Heuvel. Upon graduation from Boonton High School, Lore attended Cornell University for a year and then work during World War II. Shortly thereafter she married and had three children: George, born December 15, 1948, Peter, born March 4, 1950, and Lore Elizabeth ("Betsy"), born April 23, 1951. Lore raised all three children as a single mother. In order to help support herself and her children, she completed her college education and attended William Paterson University while working part time. She graduated Phi Betta Kappa with a degree in teaching. During her teaching career, she eventually moved from teaching elementary school children into educational guidance work and received a Masters Degree in educational counseling from Montclair State University. Not content to stop at the Masters degree level, Lore also took doctoral level educational courses in two subject areas including at the University of Minnesota and UCLA. She also took numerous courses in a wide variety of arts programs, such as interior decoration, art design and antiques. Once her children had graduated from college, Lore embarked on a legal career and attended Seton Hall University Law School at night while continuing her teaching career. Upon graduation from Seton Hall Law School and passing the New Jersey Bar examination, Lore combined her guidance counseling work at the Bridgewater Raritan School District with a second job at the Bedminster law firm of Purcell Mulcahy Hawkins Flanagan and Lawless. She continued her legal work after retirement from her teaching career. Even while working in these various positions, Lore always had time for another of her passions; travel throughout the world- with her children, with special friends Lynne and Bob Katz and, later, with her grandchildren Nicole and James, of whom she was especially proud and by whom she was called the "Go Go Grandmother." All who knew Lore were inspired by her intellectual curiosity, her boundless energy, her generosity, her kindness and her love. She will be missed dearly by all who knew her.
