Obituary of Betty L VanDuyne

Southern Pines, NC Betty L. VanDuyne (nee Fisher) died on Friday, October 12, 2012 at St. Joseph of the Pines Health Center in Southern Pines, NC following a brief illness. She was 90. Born in Somerset, PA she was a long time resident of Boonton before moving to North Carolina. Mrs. VanDuyne graduated from Somerset High School in 1941 and was a 1944 graduate of the Allegheny General Hospital School of Nursing in Pittsburgh, PA. She was a private duty registered nurse employed at several area hospitals. She was also the assistant Town of Boonton nurse. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Boonton. Her husband Lloyd W. VanDuyne died in 2001. Survivors include her niece, Theresa Lucas and her husband Joe of Aberdeen, NC and two nephews, Bruce VanDuyne of Bradenton, FL and Craig VanDuyne and his wife Audrey of Taylors, SC. Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 18, 2012 from 9:30 AM until service time at Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton. The funeral service will begin at 11:30 AM in the funeral home. Interment will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Boonton.
