Obituary of Robert J. Emerick

BOONTON---Robert J. Emerick died Saturday, May 5, 2012 at Compassionate Care Hospice, Dover, following a brief illness. He was 88. Born in Boonton, he was a lifelong resident. Mr. Emerick was a maintenance worker with the Department of Public Works, Town of Boonton for 20 years before retiring in 1989. He was a veteran of the Army Air Corps during World War II, serving in the Pacific theater. He was a lifelong parishioner at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Boonton and a member of the V.F.W. Gus Ginder Post #242, also Boonton. He was an avid golfer. He was predeceased by a sister, Cassie Deskovick, in 2010. He is survived by a brother, Michael J. Emerick of Boonton; a sister, Gertrude Paszkowski of Richmond, CA and seven nieces and nephews, Michael, Nancy and Tom Emerick and Ellen Wordsdorfer, all of Boonton, Janine Gonzalez of Virginia, Ann Paszkowski of California and the late Paul Paszkowski. The Funeral Liturgy will be celebrated on Friday, May 11th at 10:00 A.M. at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church with interment to follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Boonton. Friends may visit with the family on Thursday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton. Memorial contributions in Bob's name may be made to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 910 Birch St., Boonton, NJ 07005. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home
