Obituary of Wilda E. Lee

Wilda E. (Estler) Lee passed away on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at the Franciscan Oaks Health Center, twelve days after her 92nd birthday and following a long illness. Born in Brooklyn, New York she moved to Boonton, New Jersey with her family as a toddler in the 1920's and had been a resident of the area ever since. Her first husband, LeRoy K. Estler and her second husband, Sidney C. Lee died previously. Wilda graduated from Boonton High School in the class of 1938 and began working in businesses located in New York City and New Jersey. After she married, she conducted a seamstress and a secretarial business from home while raising her children. Later she worked as an office manager for the Boonton Times-Bulletin and then for RFL Industries until her retirement. She was a long time member of the Peace Pipe Country Club in Denville, New Jersey and the Rockaway Valley United Methodist Church in Boonton Township, New Jersey. She is survived by her children: Dr. Ron C. Estler and his wife, Jenn, of Durango, Colorado; Nan Estler Ferrari and her husband, Siro, of Zebedo, Italy; and Rev. Kent D. Estler and his wife, Ruth Anne, of Boonton Township, New Jersey. Five cherished grandchildren: Brian, Cora, Franco, Heather, and Sara; and six treasured greatgrandchildren: Amadeo, Angelina, Benedetta, Caleb, Hayden, and Samantha survive her as well. She is also survived by three stepsons: David Lee of Denville, New Jersey; Steven Lee of Maryland; and John Lee of Tunkhannock, Pennsylvania and their families. A memorial service for Wilda will be conducted at the Rockaway Valley United Methodist Church on Saturday, May 12th, 2012 at 10:30 AM. A burial service for the family will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in Wilda's name to the Rockaway Valley United Methodist Church, 38 Valley Road, Boonton Township, New Jersey 07005-9160.
