Obituary of Brian John Rodgers

MOUNTAIN LAKES---Brian J. Rodgers died Wednesday, March 28, 2012 at his son's home in Mountain Lakes following a long illness. He was 72. Born in Passaic, he was raised in Mountain Lakes, graduating from Mountain Lakes High School in 1957. His family is currently in their fourth generation living in the borough. Brian's other residences included Lake Mohawk, St. Petersburg, FL and New York City. Mr. Rodgers was the CEO of J.M. Rodgers Co., Inc., a custom house brokerage firm, for which he was extremely passionate. He retired in 2006 after 38 years but continued to consult for the firm. He received his bachelor's degree in political science from Rutgers University in 1961. In addition to his business accomplishments, he was co-founder and chairman of the Certified Transportation Network. He was also a past-president and active with the board of directors of the Lake Mohawk Golf Club. He was known to all as a gentleman. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Lynn ((nee Chusuei); two sons, James A. "Jamie" Rodgers of Mountain Lakes and Keith Rodgers of Princeton; a brother, Roy Rodgers of Brazil and two cherished grandsons, Brendan and Bradley. Friends may call at memorial visitation on Thursday, April 5th from 5-7 PM at the Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton. Prayer services will be held during this time. The interment will be private. Memorial contributions in Brian's name may be made to the Roots & Wings Foundation, 115 Route 46 West, Mountain Lakes, NJ 07046.
