Obituary of Alice M. Wachtel

MONTVILLE TOWNSHIP---Alice M. (Slater) Wachtel died Saturday, January 28, 2012 at her home following a long illness. She was 81. Born in Rutland, Vermont, she lived in Montville for the past 60 years. Mrs. Wachtel was the supervisor of housekeeping at St. Clare's Hospital, Denville for 20 years before retiring in 1996. Her husband, Edmund F. Wachtel, Sr., died in 2008. She was also predeceased by two sons, Edmund "Butch", Jr. in 1993 and Charles L. in 2009. She is survived by two sons, Harold F. Wachtel and his wife, Janice of Montville and Thomas J. Wachtel and his wife Pamela of Milford, PA; two brothers, John Slater and Fred Slater, both of Pine Plains, NY; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Thursday, February 2nd at 10:30 A.M. at the Mackey Funeral Home ( www.mackeyfh.com), 107 Essex Ave., Boonton with interment to follow at Rockaway Valley Cemetery, Boonton Township. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the funeral home.
