Dad was my father-in-law for several decades. Over this period of time we came to know, understand, and respect each other. We shared a love for golf and spent many late evenings practicing our putting strokes in the kitchen. Soon after I became engaged to his daughter, Marion, he invited me to play golf at his home course, Rockaway River Country Club where on the 14th hole , a par 3, I erased any doubts he had about me by hitting a 5 iron which ended up rolling into the cup for a hole- in- one. Dad was always the best dressed man in town and had a movie star quality about him besides the fact that he was an amazingly well read and intelligent gentleman. He and I had countless fall down good times which only his wife Sis really knows about. And Dad told me quite a few family secrets which will remain that way.
His spirit will always be remembered and I was blessed to have known him very personally for so many years.
