The family of Sasha J. Truesdale is sad to announce that their daughter, sister, aunt, niece and friend, passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. Sasha died of an overdose and her family is sharing this information in the hopes that it inspires others who struggle with addiction to pursue the help they need.

Born in Morristown to Janis (Sides) and the late Vincent Truesdale, Sasha was raised in Hibernia and Rockaway.  She graduated from Morris Knolls High School in 1996 and from Montclair State University in 2003, Magna Cum Laude, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Anthropology.

After graduating, Sasha worked as an insurance analyst with New Jersey Manufacturers.  Recently she worked in customer service with Panera in Morristown.

Sasha’s joy in life was being an artist. She loved animals, traveling and archeology. Her passion for travel and exploration brought her to Spain, England, Belize, Jamaica, and Mexico among other places.

Surviving are her devoted mother, Janis C. Hassan; loving sister, Veda Truesdale with her husband, Nat Bradburd, and their children Florence and Ira; loving grandfather, Harvey Sides; her aunts and and uncles; many cousins; and her circle of dear friends whom she has known since childhood.
