Obituary of Theodore Ronald Rebele
Theodore “Ronnie” Rebele, of Boonton Township, NJ, peacefully passed away on Thursday, November 15, 2018 with his loving family by his side.
Born in Schenectady, NY to Theodore and Genevive Bushnell, Ronnie was a longtime resident of Boonton Township.
He was a Korean War Veteran who served in the US Navy. After being Honorably Discharged in 1955, Ronnie worked for NJ Bell / AT&T / Verizon in Newark, NJ and retired as a Supervisor of the HVAC Department.
Surviving are his beloved wife, Claire R. (Freytag); devoted children, Susan Probasco, Kim Krum, Todd and Dale; sister Barbara Sweeney and brother, David; also four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was predeceased by a sister, Marion Kearney.
Throughout his life Ron was especially attracted to the outdoors and nature. Many happy childhood memories were spent with the boy scouts hiking, camping and fishing. Additionally he was an avid hunter. He and his wife Claire devoted much time and passion to restoring and beautifying the farm house and property of their homestead of nearly fifty years. His tremendous handiwork and craftsmanship working with wood and tools was clearly on display all over their charming five acre mini little farm. A common sight throughout the town was of Ron riding his carriage with his horse and friend of nearly thirty years Magic. It can be said that Ron was a "down to earth " man who led a life grounded in principle and virtue that strived to abide by the age old "golden rule". He will be greatly missed by his family and his friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to visit with the family on Monday, November 19th from 4-7 pm at the Codey & Mackey Funeral Home, 107 Essex Avenue, Boonton, NJ 07005.
